Rufus King's Draft Constitution and Apple's Foundation Document to Auction
A closeup of the first page of the Apple contract
The Apple Computer Company Partnership Agreement joins founding father Rufus King's United States Constitution draft at Christie's' We the People: America at 250 auction.
The auction will feature important historical documents and books that illuminate the story of the United States. The sale is led by Rufus King’s rare printed and edited draft that contains his handwritten notes (estimate: $3m–$5m). This version of the Constitution was used by King, a delegate to the Constitutional Convention of 1787, and offers a firsthand glimpse into the mechanics of how the Constitution was conceived.
Also going under the hammer will be The Apple Computer Company Partnership Agreement signed by Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak 50 years ago, on April 1, 1976 (estimate: $2m–$4m). It marks the very beginning of the company - at the time they signed this contract Wozniak was 25, and Jobs 21.
The live auction will take place on January 23, 2026.
